In recent years, healthcare institutions have been extremely busy. However, the bookkeeping remains of great importance and it is necessary that it is in order. An annual care report will therefore have to be submitted. But what is an annual care report? And what should you take into account? No problem! We can take care of all this for you.

Healthcare institutions that submit declarations to the government must submit an annual care report every year. The purpose of this document is to provide insight into the implementation of the legal agreement. This describes, among other things, which activities have been carried out and how many customers have made use of them.

If there is a legal agreement, it is mandatory to submit an annual care report. The deadline for submitting this annual report is usually February 1. As a healthcare institution, you have been informed of this by the Healthcare Institute of the Netherlands (ZiN).

The Annual Accountability Care consists of two parts:

  • completing questionnaires in DigiMV
  • the delivery of the annual accounts and an auditor's report.

Questionnaires in DigiMV

As a healthcare institution, you will receive a login code for the Digital Reporting Systems Portal (DigiMV) from the Healthcare Institute of the Netherlands (ZiN). Here you can fill in the questionnaires that are required for the Annual Accountability Care.

Annual accounts and auditor's report

You must also submit the annual accounts and an auditor's report. These documents can be submitted in DigiMV or on paper. If you opt for paper, you must send the documents to the National Health Care Institute (ZiN).
It is important to know that the Annual Accountability Care is a legal document. This means that there may be consequences if it is not submitted correctly or on time. That is why it is very important that you, as a healthcare institution, ensure that the Annual Accounts for Healthcare are submitted correctly and on time.

Is simplified accounting possible?

In some cases, simplified accounting is possible for small healthcare providers. If you meet the conditions, you do not have to submit a full Annual Report for Care. The conditions for this are described on the website of the National Health Care Institute (ZiN).
If you, as a healthcare institution, want to use the simplified annual accounts, you must notify the National Health Care Institute at least three months before the end of the financial year.
